We have attempted to go as far back as possible with our research into the Bauernhoffen blood line, and find key dogs of Henri's that influenced the others. We have managed to look at selected pedigrees to before 1970, and a few as far back as the 1950's. In Henri's 63 years of breeding, she had many many litters. In those days there were no digital cameras and pictures are scarce.
Here we talk about Odin. He was solid black, and grew up to be 120 pounds. Odin was hugh. He was the father of a large beautiful male named "Extra Special" which was born Christmas Eve December 24, 1970. Henri showed Extra Special from time to time at dog shows. Odin and Extra were forerunners of generations of Bauernhoffen litters to come.
On the right side of this page and below, are pictures of Odin and Extra Special together in a dog run back in the early 1970's. These pictures are very old and the lighting isn't the best but they show the size of Odin. Odin is also featured in the banner pictures at the top of this website. Henri used Odin as her logo for years.
We found an ad from the mid 1970's for stud service with Odin. The ad shows his pedigree also. Although it is very poor quality, it makes for very interesting reading.
